TO PACIFIC 2008
The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre is
located in the heart of Sydney and is less than
thirty minutes from the airport.
The Darling Harbour area is one of Sydney’s
major attractions with restaurants, shopping,
entertainment facilities and tourist attractions
all in the immediate area.
The Centre is adjacent to the Sydney CBD and close
to many hotels and serviced apartments.
Visitors can reach the centre by foot if staying
at one of the close-by hotels, by Monorail, Light
rail, public transport, quick ferry or water taxi.

Accommodation
Sydney offers an extensive amount of accommodation options for visitors to Pacific 2008. Visitors choosing to stay in and around Darling Harbour will be within walking distance of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Coaches
Coach parking is available outside Sydney Convention
and Exhibition Centre. Contact the Centre for
further details:

Rail
Catch the train to Town Hall station and walk
down into Darling Harbour and the Sydney Convention
and Exhibition Centre. Trains that travel in the
central business district (which includes Town
Hall station) are frequent. Please ask your accommodation
supplier for further details of your nearest station.
Monorail
Linking Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre
with the central business district is the monorail
which operates seven days a week. Consult your
hotel or travel provider for further information
on stations closest to your accommodation.
Light Rail Tram
Leaving from Central Railway Station, the light
rail tram takes you directly to the Sydney Convention
and Exhibition Centre. The light rail system operates
every fifteen minutes, 24 hours a day.
Water
Located in The Rocks, Circular Quay is the central
hub for ferries to Darling Harbour. Please ask
your hotel or travel provider for further information
on how to get to the Rocks and Circular Quay ferry
terminal. Ferries operate seven days a week.
Taxi
Sydney is has many taxi companies who operate
seven days a week, twenty four hours a day. Taxi
ranks are located outside the Novotel Hotel Harbourside
Shopping Centre and Exhibition Hall 1.
Parking
The Darling Harbour precinct has over 5,000 car
parking spaces in the vicinity of the Sydney Convention
and Exhibition Centre.
No vehicle will be permitted to park in any area
other than designated car parks.
Operating under a separate management, the Centre
car park is located below the Exhibition Centre
and can accommodate up to 900 vehicles with direct
access to the Darling Harbour precinct. Designed
for high turnover visitation, the Centre car park
offers premium car park access to events at the
Centre and in Darling Harbour. Entrance/exit is
via Darling Drive. Additional car parks in the
vicinity of the Centre can accommodate up to 5,000
vehicles.
Vehicular access is limited to cars only with
a ceiling height of 1.8m.
The Centre accepts no responsibility for theft
of, or damage to vehicles parked in the car park,
and it is in the owner’s interest to remove
all valuables from vehicles. Conditions of entry
are posted at the entrance to the car park.
Rates are set on an hourly basis with a maximum
of five hours, after which a full day rate is
applicable. Evening rates apply. Applicable rates
for January/February 2008 will be advised in due
course.
